Click that little icon of the Surf Hotel on Block Island and enjoy 17 crazy doodles and some free-wheeling commentary that more or less sums up "what slatts did on his summer vacation!"

That was the strangest "true story" of the vacation: An elementary school teacher that made her class learn ONE song for the whole year!

And it was that song.

Laura --the hostess of this great vacation place and a bandmate-- and I took every opportunity we could find to SING that famous line!

It is quite a looloo (oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo) of a song to choose!

There's a great story during auditions for the stage production of the show, a hopeful songbird sight-reading the song for the first time, took the printed lyrics a bit too literally and sang:

"When I'm calling you double O double O!"

On the other hand, it could have been worse. It could have been "Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life."
